Job Description
We are seeking a Tool Crib Apprentice to support our aerospace manufacturing operations by assisting in the storage, issuance, tracking, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials used in production.
This is a hands-on developmental role designed to provide training in tooling management, inventory control systems, machining support, and aerospace manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to build a long-term career in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Store, issue, and track hand tools, machine tools, dies, fixtures, materials, and equipment.
Create purchase orders and manage transactions using Cribware software.
Issue tools and equipment to production personnel and maintain accurate records of issuance and returns.
Receive, unpack, and properly store incoming tools and equipment.
Locate lost or misplaced tools and maintain inventory accuracy.
Prepare tooling kits for Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) and production jobs.
Break down returned job kits and inspect tools, holders, and setting equipment for wear or damage.
Report defective or worn tooling to supervisors and assist in corrective actions.
Send out and receive tooling regrinds as required.
Repair, service, and lubricate tools, holders, and setting equipment as needed.
Perform routine cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records in Cribware.
Ensure all tools and equipment are properly marked and identified for traceability.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool crib environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Manufacturing or machining experience preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills; inventory software experience (Cribware a plus).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability required.
Above-average mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
Willingness to learn and grow within aerospace manufacturing.
