SeniorSystems & Platform Engineer, Enterprise Apps

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems & Platform Engineer, Enterprise Apps based in the United States.

This role sits at the center of a modern enterprise cloud transformation, shaping the architecture and reliability of an Azure-based platform that powers critical business applications and integrations. You will design and evolve scalable infrastructure supporting ERP, middleware, retail, fulfillment, and analytics systems across a complex global ecosystem. The position blends deep cloud engineering expertise with enterprise integration challenges, requiring strong ownership of platform strategy and execution. You will work across multiple technical domains, including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, observability, and API-driven integrations. Acting as a key architect of enterprise platform standards, you will help unify and modernize workloads across Azure. This is a high-impact role where your work directly strengthens reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency across core business systems.

Accountabilities:
  • Architect and implement scalable, secure, cloud-native Azure solutions supporting enterprise applications including ERP integrations, middleware, ETL, retail channels, 3PL connectivity, and analytics platforms.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform and modern cloud engineering practices.
  • Define and evolve a unified Azure landing zone, including networking, identity, security, and governance standards across enterprise workloads.
  • Build and operate integration platforms using Azure services such as Service Bus, Event Hubs, Data Factory, Logic Apps, and Function Apps.
  • Ensure platform reliability for mission-critical workflows such as financial reconciliation, order fulfillment, and month-end processing through strong observability and resilience patterns.
  • Implement and manage observability frameworks using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams (including offshore partners) to deliver scalable, production-ready integration solutions.
  • Establish FinOps and governance practices, including cost optimization, tagging standards, and policy enforcement across Azure environments.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and ensure systems meet standards for security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution across development, staging, and production environments.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles with strong software engineering foundations.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services including App Service, Container Apps, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Data Factory, Azure SQL, Entra ID, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
  • Hands-on experience building infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform; experience with Azure CAF is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native delivery workflows.
  • Strong experience with enterprise integration systems including ERP (NetSuite preferred), ETL/middleware platforms, EDI, and messaging systems.
  • Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and integration lifecycle management.
  • Strong scripting or backend development experience in Python or TypeScript (with .NET or Java as a plus).
  • Experience with observability, distributed tracing, and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry and Azure Application Insights.
  • Familiarity with cloud security and governance practices including private endpoints, managed identities, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders and distributed teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, lean, and highly accountable environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior-level cloud engineering roles in the United States.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions and matching.
  • Flexible remote-first work environment within the United States.
  • Generous paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and additional wellbeing days.
  • Strong focus on work-life balance, mental health, and employee wellness programs.
  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise cloud transformation and mission-critical systems.
  • Opportunities to work on advanced Azure-native architectures and integration platforms.
  • Inclusive, collaborative, and innovation-driven engineering culture.
