This field-based technical role plays a key part in ensuring the performance, reliability, and longevity of advanced instrumentation used in professional environments. You will operate across a defined territory, delivering installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade services while ensuring minimal downtime for customers. The role combines hands-on technical work with customer interaction, requiring both problem-solving precision and strong communication skills. You will represent the organization directly on-site, contributing to high levels of customer satisfaction and trust. Working with electromechanical, electronic, and optical systems, you will support critical equipment that impacts clinical, industrial, or research outcomes. This position offers a dynamic mix of independent fieldwork, structured technical processes, and continuous learning through advanced training and certifications.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality field service support across your assigned territory, ensuring equipment reliability and customer satisfaction. You will diagnose, repair, install, and upgrade instrumentation while adhering to technical guidelines, safety standards, and company procedures. You will also manage preventive maintenance schedules and respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform installation, repair, preventive maintenance, and upgrades of assigned instrumentation in the field
- Diagnose technical issues and implement effective troubleshooting solutions using established methods and tools
- Schedule and manage customer service visits based on operational and customer needs
- Complete accurate field service documentation, reports, and weekly expense submissions
- Maintain service tools, spare parts inventory, and calibration records in accordance with guidelines
- Provide customer training on equipment use and maintenance when required
- Ensure professional communication with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders
This role requires strong technical aptitude in electromechanical, electronic, or optical systems, combined with field service experience and a customer-focused mindset. You should be comfortable working independently in dynamic environments and managing travel across a wide territory. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
- Minimum 3 years of field service experience or equivalent experience in electronics, fine mechanics, or optics
- Degree or diploma in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or a related technical field preferred
- Solid understanding of electromechanical, electronic, and optical systems
- Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic approaches
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and customer-facing professionalism
- High level of computer literacy and ability to complete required technical certifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong self-management skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel extensively
