Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salaried
Reports to: VP Supply Chain Integration
Supervisory Responsibility: Shipping and Receiving Personnel
Location: Jacksonville, FL

Essential Functions
- Reads production inventory reports to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
- Confers with department supervisors to determine overdue material and equipment and to inform Fabrication Management of material status.
- Coordinates or directly performs the offloading and receipt of deliveries of material and equipment.
- Ensures fabrication staff complete all necessary paperwork for the transfer of goods from stock area to production areas.
- Examines material received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as quantities, damaged, or unmarked parts.
- Updates all receiving reports on a weekly basis.
- Performs inventory audit on a monthly basis or as necessary.
- Coordinates delivery times with Supplier logistics departments.
- Maintains clean and organized storage areas.
- Coordinates the shipment of items for return.
- Assists in the packaging and loading of “loose ship” items for delivery to client sites.
- Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position may have supervisory responsibilities of other shipping & receiving personnel.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional fabrication environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and often utilizes factory equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other large machinery required to move inventory.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is an active role; however, there are some office functions as well. This position would require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with significant amount of bending, standing, and walking as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and welding. The noise level in the work environment is can be loud.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week with overtime as necessary.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of five years of experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Certificate in Inventory Management and Logistics.
- Three plus years managing inventory in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Two plus years in shipping and receiving.
- Experience with inventory management tools.
