About This Position

Description:

Job Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for accurate financial reporting, month-end close process, posting journal entries, and performing account reconciliations. This role is also responsible for managing prepaid expenses, accruals, inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and fixed asset accounting. The Senior Staff Accountant ensures accurate and timely reporting and helps maintain the highest level of internal controls and GAAP compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely, and complete financial records
  • Assist with external audits, earnings reviews, tax filings, and lender reporting, including preparation of supporting schedules
  • Support accounting for equipment sales, service labor, parts, and contract revenue
  • Manage prepaid expenses and maintain accurate tracking.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and expense reporting, including inventory reconciliations, reserve analyses, revenue recognition, and adjustments
  • Perform fixed asset accounting, including schedules and depreciation.
  • Support financial reporting and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Support integration of acquisitions, including chart of accounts and opening balance sheet
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to streamline processes and maintain and strengthen accuracy and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy with strong organization skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA preferred
  • Four or more years of progressive Accounting experience required, including POC accounting
  • Prior acquisition, integration, or due diligence experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
