Position Title: GIS Solution Architect (Hybrid Washington DC)

Client: U.S. Secret Service (Department of Homeland Security)

Work Location: Hybrid - 950 H St NW #7800, Washington, DC 20223

Reporting Hours: Eastern Standard Time (EST) Business Hours

Clearance: DoD Top Secret Clearance (Active or held within the last two years)

Travel: None at this time

Geocgi is seeking a GIS Solution Architect to support the U.S. Secret Service within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in a hybrid environment based in Washington, DC. This role focuses on designing and improving enterprise geospatial solutions, aligning GIS capabilities with enterprise architecture standards, and supporting modernization efforts across operational and technical environments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in enterprise GIS architecture, systems integration, and business process improvement, along with the ability to advise stakeholders and guide strategic technical decisions.

This position is a Hybrid opportunity with the primary location of performance in Washington DC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire, analyze, compile, evaluate, and review geospatial data for operational products and data holdings.
  • Design and support enterprise GIS solutions aligned with DHS architecture standards and operational requirements.
  • Analyze enterprise IT and geospatial needs to improve workflows, processes, and system efficiencies.
  • Gather, document, and refine technical and operational requirements from stakeholders and users.
  • Evaluate existing architectures and recommend enhancements supporting modernization and mission objectives.
  • Ensure solutions comply with DHS Enterprise Architecture models, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders to support enterprise GIS strategy and implementation.
  • Support systems integration, geospatial workflows, and enterprise operational capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and architectural recommendations across GIS initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to documentation, process improvement efforts, and technical planning activities.

The following are requirements of the GIS Solution Architect:

  • U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport.
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance (Active or held within the last two years)
  • Masters degree with 4+ years of experience, Bachelors degree with 6+ years of experience, or 10+ years of equivalent experience in GIS, Geography or related field.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise GIS or IT architectures.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise systems integration, workflow analysis, and operational process improvement.
  • Experience gathering and translating user and business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams.

The following are preferred of the GIS Solution Architect:

  • Experience with Esri products such as ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online.
  • Familiarity with web-based or mobile GIS applications.
  • Experience supporting federal or operational GIS environments.
  • Exposure to spatial analysis, scripting, or data automation workflows.

The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $130,000 $150,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Geocgi considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
