This role plays a key part in transforming healthcare and employee benefits data into actionable financial insights that help employers make smarter decisions about their benefit programs. You will analyze complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within medical, dental, pharmacy, life, and disability plans. Working closely with account management and sales teams, you will support client-facing deliverables that guide benefit strategy and plan design optimization. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly analytical, requiring both precision and strong communication skills. You will build financial illustrations, reporting tools, and models that directly influence client decisions and long-term outcomes. This is a highly impactful role for someone who enjoys combining data analysis with real-world business and healthcare strategy.
- Analyze employee benefits data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for plan optimization and cost mitigation.
- Develop financial models, illustrations, and analytical tools to support client benefit strategy and decision-making.
- Extract, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of reporting outputs.
- Produce recurring client deliverables, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and utilization reports.
- Collaborate with account managers and sales teams to interpret utilization data and recommend plan design improvements.
- Design and maintain reporting processes, dashboards, and analytical frameworks to streamline data interpretation.
- Document analytical methodologies and maintain clear records of processes and outputs for internal and client use.
- Support mentorship and training of junior analysts while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, financial analysis, or employee benefits analytics within insurance, consulting, or healthcare environments.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools for data modeling and reporting.
- Experience working with group insurance products such as medical, dental, pharmacy, life, and disability coverage is highly preferred.
- Ability to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Experience with databases or healthcare analytics tools is a plus.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
