Job Description:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk at Kreate is responsible for overseeing the efficient coordination of all inbound and outbound shipments, as well as managing the internal movement of products and materials between the manufacturing facility and satellite warehouse locations. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring seamless operations within our supply chain.
In addition to shipping and receiving duties, the Shipping/Receiving Clerk will assist with procurement and material handling functions, including tracking inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers for timely delivery of materials, and supporting the purchasing team with order placement and follow-ups. This position ensures that materials are available when needed and that procurement processes align with production and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute the receiving and inspection of raw materials, components, and finished goods from external suppliers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
- Plan and schedule shipments to external customers, coordinating transportation modes and carriers to meet delivery deadlines while minimizing costs.
- Manage the movement of materials and products between the manufacturing facility and satellite warehouse locations, optimizing inventory levels and distribution efficiency.
- Assist in Procurement of raw materials and packaging to support daily production requirements.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of materials to avoid production downtime and minimize excess stock.
- Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure accurate picking, packing, and loading orders for outbound shipments, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with production and forecasting to ensure timely delivery for new projects and customer demands.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconciliation of physical vs system inventory.
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of inventory storage, ensuring proper labeling, shelving, and rotation to prevent discrepancies and damage.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to track shipments, monitor inventory levels, and generate reports for operational analysis.
- Resolve any shipping, receiving, or inventory discrepancies in a timely manner, working with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve shipping and receiving processes, identifying opportunities to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and enhance overall efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for shipping, receiving, and storage of materials, including hazardous materials handling if applicable.
- Provide leadership and guidance to shipping/receiving teams, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience, 3+ years in shipping, receiving, and inventory coordination within a manufacturing or distribution environment, familiarity with the plastic injection molding industry is a plus.
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving procedures, logistics, and inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with internal teams, external partners, and carriers.
- Problem-solving aptitude and ability to make decisions under pressure to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve operational challenges.
- Forklift certification and knowledge of material handling equipment operations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and compliance with industry regulations.
