Glynlea Country Club is located on the Treasure Coast in Port St. Lucie, one of the fastest-growing cities in Florida. The club is part of Wylder, a master-planned community, and features a signature 18-hole golf course designed by Jim Furyk—offering a blend of challenge, tranquility, and playability. The complete golf experience includes a Pro Shop, driving range, and practice putting green. Future plans for the Club include a fitness center, sports courts, dining venues, and a resort-style pool. Job purpose

As the Assistant Golf Professional, you will play a key role in supporting the Director of Golf in delivering exceptional golf experiences to our members and guests. Working closely with the golf management team, you will contribute to the overall success of the golf operation by assisting with various aspects of daily operations, player development programs, and customer service initiatives. Position will include supervision of all team members assisting with instructional programs and will also assist in the promotion of all golf activities with the membership.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Serve as an ambassador of hospitality and goodwill to all members, guests, and fellow team members.
  • Greet and welcome members and guests throughout the club and Pro Shop; anticipate and assist with their daily needs to ensure an exceptional experience.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the entire golf operation, including all Club rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of all golf staff members to ensure consistency and excellence in service.
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures following standard operating procedures for reconciliation, site security, etc.
  • Collect fees and process payments in line with Club procedures, including shop purchases and greens fees.
  • Assist in organizing and running tournaments, and other events, to help make them a success in line with Club policy.
  • Organize and control play ensuring members and guests receive the best service and enjoyment during their day.
  • Maintain familiarity with all merchandise and products in the Golf Shop to support sales and member service.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Reconcile daily transactions in the Jonas system with corresponding tee sheet activity.
  • Assist with basic club repair services as needed.
  • Walk the range daily to engage with and assist members, providing a welcoming and helpful presence.
  • Provide private and group golf instructions for members and guests.
  • Assist the Director of Golf with hiring, training, scheduling, and managing outside service operations.
  • Operate within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
  • Participate in member golf activities with and provide golf instruction to members and guests.
  • Support all operational areas of the golf department as needed.
  • Maintain membership within the PGA of America.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Registered PGA PGM Level 2 Associate working towards Class A. Class A Member preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a golf-related role or relevant education in golf management, required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of golf equipment, rules, and etiquette.
  • Valid Driver's License

Working conditions

Work is primarily indoors. Potential exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils, harmful chemicals and/or being exposed to flying golf balls.

Physical requirements

Good organizational and verbal skills. Ability to use logical and rational thinking to resolve issues. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, monitors and develops subordinates, visually monitor the operation areas, write and read member communication.

Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs., up to 30 lbs. frequently. Perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, pushing, lifting and grasping for up to 5 hours without sitting.

Please be advised that all work that requires the use of a ladder more than 8 ft. long must be reviewed by Hampton Golf's Club Maintenance person. Following his assessment of the situation, he will determine if he or subcontractors will perform the necessary maintenance task. No other staff member is authorized to climb to heights exceeding 8 ft. and or perform such maintenance. In addition, personnel are prohibited from entering facility attics, walking on the roof of buildings, and/or prohibited from using scaffolding.
