This is a contract opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional to join a fast-paced, remote-first environment supporting core financial operations. In this role, you will take ownership of day-to-day accounts payable activities while contributing to broader accounting processes, including month-end close and reconciliations. You will also provide backup support for accounts receivable and billing functions, ensuring accuracy and continuity across financial workflows. Working closely with the finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring timely processing of transactions. - Manage day-to-day accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor communications, and payment tracking to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Support accounts receivable and billing processes as needed, ensuring smooth financial operations across both incoming and outgoing transactions.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial data validation.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across financial records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain and organize financial documentation in accordance with internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to address inquiries and resolve payment or billing issues.
- Support the finance team in improving accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and deadlines within a remote work environment.
- Assist with the use and maintenance of accounting systems and AP/AR platforms.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles, with exposure to accounts receivable and billing processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliation processes.
- Experience using accounting systems and financial software; familiarity with AP automation tools is a plus.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
