Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accumulate, review, and enter rent payments, rent adjustments, and move-in/move-out information.
- Train resident managers on e-site, YARDI, Boston Post, and accounting procedures.
- Monthly financial statement preparation
- General ledger account reconciliation and analysis
- Monthly bank statement reconciliation
- Review and post standard accruals
- Reconcile security deposit balances to supporting accounting reports and to bank statements. Prepare documentation for cash transfers between operating, security, and tax accounts.
- Review and report available cash balances to property managers and accounts payable.
- Close monthly and annual financial statements (reconciling balances, reviewing income & expense balances for unusual trends or entries, etc.)
- Cash Management for assigned properties
- Electronic Filing
- Assist with special projects as needed. (Audits, owner requests, etc.)
- Write bank deposits and rotate daily bank deposits with other staff.
Qualifications: This position carries supervisory responsibilities.
- High School education or equivalent
- Management experience preferred
- 2+ years of property accounting experience working with affordable (tax credit, HUD, RD, etc.)
- Experience with Yardi and ResMan preferred
- Previous experience in Property Management is desired
- Knowledge of monthly financial statement preparation
- Experience in general ledger account reconciliation and analysis
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive
- Must have reliable transportation
