We have an immediate need for a Intrathecal Pain Pump Registered Nurse at a growing clinic in Greenwood Village, CO. The role involves complementing and enhancing the quality of service to our patients by providing information and direction in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.

This role is involved in strategic planning and continuous quality improvement by providing planning and development of patient care with implantable devices, intrathecal pain pumps and neurostimulation. Ensures and maintains patient care delivery in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and department objectives. Assure adequate exchange of information and communication among teams. While this role is intended to serve at a particular CPIhealth location, it is within the company’s right to assign staff to other CPIhealth locations when there are staffing shortages.

Essential Functions

  • Medical treatment coordination for prospective and/or current intrathecal pain pump patients.
  • Performs intrathecal pump refills and reprogrammings under supervision of APP or Physician.
  • Able to treat post-operative pump/spinal cord stimulation implant patients under the supervision of APP or Physician.
  • Performs staple/suture removal for post-operative patients under supervision of APP or Physician.
  • Assists with procedural sedation at the direction of Physician.
  • Manage intrathecal pump trials under the supervision of Physician.
  • Triage patient calls.
  • Communicate with specific departments via tasking in EHR.
  • Works with APP and Physicians regarding intrathecal and oral medication prescriptions.
  • Educate and collaborate with intrathecal pain pump patients and family members from consult to post procedure.
  • Educate and coordinate care with outside agencies and physician offices.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with device representatives to ensure quality care to all implant patients.
  • Assists physicians/APPs in completing patient forms, and or insurance/prior authorization for procedures or medications when applicable and document.
  • Helps develop, update and maintain templates, databases and trackers.
  • Accurate and complete EHR documentation.
  • Provides customers with courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Assists with training of other implant staff related to the specific job duties.
  • Attends required staff, educational and training meetings.
  • Reads, follows and applies all appropriate procedures and protocols.
  • May be asked to work nights/weekends for after hour patient calls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.

Requirements:
  • Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • ICU experience, home health and/or experience with infusion preferred.
  • Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.
  • Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public.
  • Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems within scope of licensure; ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Evidence of leadership qualities. Consistently contributing to the improvement of the department and participate in committee participation, task force, etc.
  • The ability to contribute in a team environment and to provide excellent customer service.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current state registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire.
  • ACLS certificated or obtain certification within the first year of hire.

Dress Code: Scrubs

Pay rate: $40/hour to $50/hour (depending on experience)
