This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud and System Administrator based in Canada.
This role is a hands-on cloud operations position focused on managing and evolving a modern Azure-based enterprise environment. You will support critical cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, identity and access systems, and enterprise applications across a distributed organization. The position blends cloud administration, cybersecurity support, automation, and vendor coordination in a fast-paced operational setting. You will ensure systems remain secure, highly available, and cost-efficient while supporting both end-users and internal technology teams. A strong focus is placed on Azure governance, monitoring, and continuous improvement of cloud services. This is an opportunity to work across infrastructure, security, and cloud engineering domains while enabling reliable digital services at scale.
- Provide day-to-day support for cloud services, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, identity systems, and end-user technologies, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
- Administer and maintain Azure infrastructure such as virtual machines, networking components, storage, databases, and cloud-native services.
- Manage identity and access operations using Microsoft Entra ID, including RBAC, MFA, Conditional Access, and privileged access controls.
- Monitor system health and performance using Azure Monitor and related tools, supporting incident response and root cause analysis.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes using Azure Backup and Site Recovery solutions.
- Implement cloud security best practices and assist in remediation of security findings using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and related tools.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to support cloud operations, deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years of IT or systems administration experience, including at least 5 years working with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong expertise in Azure infrastructure, networking, identity management, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure RBAC, Windows/Linux systems, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation tools.
- Solid understanding of cloud governance, disaster recovery, cybersecurity principles, and operational best practices.
- Experience working in remote or distributed environments with strong communication, autonomy, and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (or willingness to obtain within an agreed timeframe).
- Additional value: certifications such as AZ-305 or SC-200, and experience with Kubernetes, DevOps, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
