This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of all areas of the department at a specified location and coordinating the activities of all personnel. Evaluates department for effective and efficient utilization of staff and resources. The Diagnostic Lead provides daily staff supervision and ensures the effective and efficient operation of the department while promoting excellent customer service and employee satisfaction. The Diagnostic Lead is responsible to broaden knowledge and promote the growth of staff and improve quality. Works closely with the Diagnostic Manager and Ancillary Department Leadership to ensure efficient and accurate registration and testing in all areas.
This position works in conjunction with the leadership team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs for new and established Diagnostic Center team members. Assumes responsibility for the training of all Diagnostic Center staff completing registrations and phlebotomy and administers training on all associated software. Educates staff on new policies and procedures. Coordinates and updates orientation and yearly competencies for all Diagnostic Center staff. Acts as a liaison between the outpatient and inpatient lab, outreach areas, and providers. Works as a Diagnostic Tech to address patient and departmental needs as well as maintain their skill level. Works with all members of the health system on process improvement when an issue arises.
- Education/Training/Experience:

REQUIRED:
- Phlebotomy experience required
- Clerical experience with extensive knowledge of registration and medical insurance
- Computer literacy required, including the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point and other office products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent typing and presentation skills
- Excellent customer services skills and ability to independently problem-solve. Positive interpersonal relationship skills required

PREFERRED:
- Two years healthcare experience required, Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Medical Terminology preferred
