Summary
The Continuous Improvement Technician II is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing floor. This role leads and supports Kaizen events, lean transformation, and collaborates with production teams to design and implement workstation improvements that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Kaizen workshops focused on process optimization, waste elimination, and operational efficiency.
- Design, develop, and build ergonomic and efficient production workstations using lean principles. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements that support standardized work and reduce waste.
- Train employees on lean tools such as 5S, SMED, Standard Work, and Visual Management. Coach teams on identifying and solving operational problems.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time, increase throughput, and improve quality.
- Track and report KPIs related to Kaizen activities and workstation improvements, including productivity, defect rates, and safety metrics.
- Ensure that successful improvements are documented, standardized, and sustained across production lines.
- Encourage frontline workers to participate in continuous improvement efforts and contribute ideas for workstation and process enhancements.
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, safety, and quality teams to ensure workstation designs meet operational and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
- Hands-on experience in designing, building, and implementing production workstation improvements.
- Strong knowledge of Kaizen, lean principles, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD tools, workstation design software, and 3D printing.
Location: This position is located in Longmont, CO.
Base Compensation: $26 - $33 is the projected hourly pay for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
Bonus: This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
