Job Description
Summary/Objective
Fabrication Machine Operators organize the required materials and operate machinery to create projects, while ensuring projects are accurate and complete before sending them on to the other areas of production.
Essential Functions
Operates fabrication shop machinery and equipment. Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements/thickness.
Loads and unloads material from machinery using forklift.
Performs preventative maintenance on machinery.
Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
Machinery to be operated includes turrets, brake presses, various benders, and other punches and breakout devices to keep product moving effectively through the fabrication department.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Requirements:Job Requirements
- Ability to read and understand CAD drawings preferred.
- Knowledge of decimal and fraction conversions preferred.
- Must have the ability to read a ruler.
- Ability to read a caliper preferred.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form; perform basic math functions
- Willing and able to work overtime
- Dependable with emphasis on attendance and punctuality
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to frequently lift or move items up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for entirety of shift
