Dental Assistant III at Healthfirst Bluegrass – Lexington, Kentucky

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant III – EDDA to support our dental team in transforming smiles and lives every day.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with restorative procedures, oral surgeries, and pediatric dentistry
• Perform expanded duties under EDDA certification, including placing and carving restorations
• Take and process digital X-rays (panoramic, periapical, bitewings)
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, disinfect operatories, and set up trays for procedures
• Maintain accurate electronic dental records and review/update medical histories
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide clear post-op instructions
• Communicate referrals, support patient understanding, and ease patient anxieties

What You Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of dental assisting experience required
• EDDA certification required
• Radiology and CPR certifications required
• Demonstrated proficiency in:
• Four-handed dentistry
• Infection control and sterilization protocols
• Assisting in endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
• Pediatric patient management (preferred)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
• Passion for helping underserved populations and working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
