Kodiak Island has spectacular pristine scenic beauty, is a sportsman's paradise, and offers numerous fishing, hunting and recreational activities.  This is the land of wild Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, King Salmon, and the mighty Kodiak Brown Bear.  KEA operates and maintains 324 miles of distribution lines, six substations, two diesel generator power plants, one combined cycle plant, one hydroelectric plant, and one wind farm.

KEA is seeking a Manager of Power Generation.  This exempt position is responsible for the overall performance of power generation facilities and equipment, and insures that adequate generation is available at all times to meet the system load requirement in KEA's stand-alone electrical grid on Kodiak Island, Alaska.  Starting salary is based on qualifications and includes an excellent NRECA benefit package and relocation reimbursement.

Alaska's Emerald Island has a mild, ever-changing maritime climate.  Approximately two-thirds of the island is National Wildlife Refuge.  The Port of Kodiak is consistently ranked as one of the top three fishing ports in the U.S.  Alaska does not have a state income tax.  In October of 2009, every eligible resident received a dividend of $1,305, including their share of the money from the sale of oil pumped out of the ground in Alaska.
